Hotel Room QR Code | Guest Service Requests
Put one code in every room. Guests scan, tap what they need, and a ready-made request opens in WhatsApp to the right team.
About Hotel Room QR Code | Guest Service Requests
A hotel room QR code replaces the in-room phone card and the compendium page that nobody reads. The guest scans the code on the desk, bedside or door, taps what they need, such as extra towels, room cleaning, an AC repair or an airport taxi, and a ready-made message opens in WhatsApp, already addressed to the right department.
With GoldenQR you set up the page once, print one code per room (or one for the whole hotel), and change numbers, services or timings later without reprinting. The guest page is a fast, mobile-first page with large tap targets, so it works for guests of every age without installing an app.
What guests can ask for
- Housekeeping: room cleaning, extra towels, pillows or blankets, toiletries, hangers, laundry bags or slippers, bed linen change, extra mattress or baby cot.
- Reception: luggage help, checkout information, wake-up call, facilities and timings, taxi or airport transfer, sightseeing and tours, invoice or booking help.
- Maintenance: AC or temperature, TV or remote, Wi-Fi, lights or electrical, bathroom plumbing, safe, door lock or key card.
- Facilities and extras: spa or massage, gym, pool and activities, laundry and ironing, banquet or conference enquiry, extra bed or room upgrade, flowers, cake or other special occasion.
Different WhatsApp numbers for different teams
Set one main number, then give housekeeping, reception, maintenance and facilities their own numbers. You can even give a single service its own number. Services you do not offer can be switched off.
Good to know
- Requests are sent from the guest's own WhatsApp to your number. GoldenQR does not store, route or track requests, so your staff need to watch those WhatsApp numbers.
- Guests are told to call reception for emergencies. The page does not replace your emergency procedures.
- Use one code per room (the room number is filled in for the guest) or one code for the whole hotel, where the guest types their room number.
Who uses it
- Hotels, resorts and heritage properties with a front desk and housekeeping team
- Guest houses, homestays and service apartments that run on WhatsApp
- Hostels and serviced residences with maintenance requests from many rooms
- Banquet hotels that want a quick enquiry route for events and conferences
How to create it
- Create a Hotel room guest services code and enter the hotel name as the page title.
- Enter your main WhatsApp number, and optional numbers for housekeeping, reception, maintenance and facilities.
- Switch off services you do not offer, add your facility timings, and choose a colour.
- Preview the page on your phone, publish it, and download the QR code.
- Print room stickers or table cards. For per-room codes, duplicate the code and change the room number.
Frequently asked questions
What can guests request with the hotel room QR code?
Housekeeping (cleaning, towels, pillows, toiletries, linen change, extra bed or cot), reception help (luggage, wake-up call, taxi, checkout and invoice), maintenance issues (AC, TV, Wi-Fi, electrical, plumbing, lock or key card) and extras such as spa, laundry, banquet enquiries and special occasion arrangements.
Can different services go to different WhatsApp numbers?
Yes. Set a main number, then optional numbers for housekeeping, reception, maintenance and facilities, or even for a single service. A service without its own number uses its department number, then the main number.
Does GoldenQR store guest requests?
No. The request opens in the guest's WhatsApp and goes straight to your number. GoldenQR does not keep a copy, so your staff must monitor the WhatsApp numbers you enter.
Do guests need to install an app?
No. The page opens in the phone browser after scanning the code. Guests only need WhatsApp, which most already have.
Should I make one code per room?
You can. A per-room code fills in the room number for the guest. A single hotel-wide code also works: the guest types their room number before sending a request.
Can I show facility timings such as pool and gym hours?
Yes. Add one line per facility with its timings and the page lists them, along with your checkout time and reception hours.
