Pet and Item QR Tag | Lost and Found

Put a QR tag on a collar, key ring or bag so that whoever finds it can reach you without seeing more than you choose to show.

About Pet and Item QR Tag | Lost and Found

A pet or item QR tag is a small printed code you attach to a collar, key ring, bag or laptop. When someone finds the item or the animal, they scan the tag with a phone camera and see the name, a photo, a short note from you and the contact options you chose.

You decide how much is shown. You can show a Call owner button, a WhatsApp button, a message form that hides your number, or a mix. If your pet or item goes missing, switch on the Lost banner and the page shows it clearly to anyone who scans.

Because it is a dynamic code, you can change the phone number, photo or notes later without replacing the tag.

How it works

  • Create a Pet or item QR tag and fill in the name, a short description and up to two photos.
  • Choose how finders can reach you: a Call owner button, WhatsApp, a message form, or any mix.
  • Print the ready-made tag (small 8 cm or large 11 cm) and attach it to the collar, key ring or bag.
  • Messages reach you by email and are listed in your account.

Your privacy

  • If you turn on the Call owner button, anyone who scans can see and use your phone number. Turn it off to keep it private and receive messages only.
  • Do not put your full home address on the page; a locality such as the area where the pet is usually found is enough.
  • Finders are not asked for their number; if they enter one, only you see it. No IP addresses are stored, and messages are deleted after 90 days.

Good to know

The tag does not track location or work like a GPS tracker. It only works when someone with a phone scans it. GoldenQR does not send SMS or place calls for you.

Who uses it

  • Dogs and cats: collar tags that work even when the microchip is not scanned
  • Bags, school bags and luggage that get left behind on trains and buses
  • Keys, wallets and laptops carried between home, office and travel
  • Bicycles and scooters parked in shared places

How to create it

  1. Choose Pet or item QR tag when creating a code.
  2. Enter the name, a short description, a photo and how finders can reach you.
  3. Publish the page, then open Print tag and choose small or large.
  4. Attach the tag and test it by scanning with your own phone.

Frequently asked questions

Can a stranger see my phone number?

Only if you switch on the Call owner button. Turn it off and finders can only send you a message, which arrives by email.

How do I mark my pet as lost?

Open the tag settings, tick Mark as lost and save. The page shows a red banner straight away. Untick it when your pet is back.

Does the tag track location?

No. It is a printed code, not a GPS tracker. It helps only when a person scans it, and the finder can type where they are in their message.

Can I use one tag for several items?

Each tag is one code with one page. Create a separate tag for each pet or item so the right name and photo show up.
