Static QR Codes
Static codes contain your content directly. They are simple, private and do not depend on GoldenQR staying online.
About Static QR Codes
A static QR code stores the content itself: the text, the link, the phone number or the Wi-Fi details. There is no redirect, so the code works as long as it is readable, and GoldenQR keeps no copy.
The trade-off is that static codes cannot be edited and scans cannot be counted. If you need to change the destination later or see statistics, use a dynamic code instead.
Types of static code
- Plain text
- Website link
- Phone number (tap to call)
- SMS with a ready message
- Email with subject and message
- Wi-Fi network (see the Wi-Fi page)
Static or dynamic?
- Choose static for content that never changes, such as a Wi-Fi password, a fixed phone number or a short note.
- Choose dynamic for anything you may want to edit, switch off, expire or measure.
- Static codes do not count against your dynamic-code limit.
Who uses it
- Wi-Fi details for guests
- A phone number or email address on a sign or label
- A short note, serial number or instructions on equipment
How to create it
- Log in and open Static QR from your QR codes page.
- Choose the type and enter the details.
- Download the code as PNG, SVG or PDF.
- Print it and test it before a large print run.
Frequently asked questions
Are static QR codes free?
They are available on every plan and do not use your dynamic-code allowance.
Can I edit a static QR code?
No. The content is inside the picture. Create and print a new code if it changes.
Are static QR codes tracked?
No. Scans are not counted because nothing passes through GoldenQR.
Does GoldenQR store what I enter?
No. Static codes are generated on request and are not saved.
